Thread creative team makes plea to save the color!

Despite our up-front and color-biased moniker, Team Orange is proficient with “all the colors in the crayon box.”

When Crayola announced that it was eliminating one color from the classic 24-count box, we decided to ask each Thread Marketing Group creative team member about which color they could not live without.

As of 2014, the colors in a box of 24 Crayola crayons are red, yellow, blue, brown, orange, green, violet, black, carnation pink, yellow orange, blue green, red violet, red orange, yellow green, blue violet, white, violet red, dandelion, cerulean, apricot, scarlet, green yellow, indigo and gray. You might be able to think of some colors to toss aside, but which color would you steadfastly hold the line for?

Defend Your Color!

This task pairs well with classic arguments like “if you could only have one color on a desert island” or “which color would you not toss overboard from your lifeboat.” So creative team, make your impassioned argument. Tell us which missing color will have the most profound effect on future generations trying to express exactly what it is that makes the world a more colorful place. Which color shall not pass from our favorite 24 pack Crayola box?

Each Thread creative team member (all world-class color experts!) produced their own color testimony, which will be entered into the record here and on Facebook.

  • Brandy Martzke is ga-ga for her trusty Cerulean.
  • David Proudfoot cannot envision a world without Red Orange.
  • Paula Adam says give me Green Yellow or go home.
  • Ryan Thompson would never close the door on his favorite Gray.

So there you have it Crayola. Do what you must on National Crayon Day to your iconic portfolio, but hold the line on our team’s favorite colors.
